Frequently Asked Questions
How do I decide the best catering style for my event?
Timing is everything. This is especially true when determining the menu and meal service for a catered event. It’s important to choose the type of meal and menu options that best suit the allotted time your guests have for the meal or event. If your guests only have a limited time for breakfast or lunch, box meals and lunches are the best choice for meals of 30 minutes or guests on-the-go. Catered buffet meals usually are completed in about 1 hour and allow guests to pick and choose the food items that they will enjoy. When planning a sit-down or plated catered event meal, allow at least 1 ½ to 2 hours for full meal service. Cocktail catering receptions require a minimum of 1 hour before dinner to allow guests to mingle and enjoy the food and beverages. Corporate working breakfasts or lunches require food menu items that can hold up for longer periods of time without ruining the integrity of the food.
How do I secure my event booking?
To book your event, we ask that you pay a 50 percent retainer and complete a signed catering contract. By paying the retainer and signing the contract, you are only reserving the date of your event. You will be able to revise your menu, headcount, timeline, and rentals up to 2 weeks before your event date.
Can Juliet Catering provide alcohol?
Yes! We are a fully TABC licensed company and can provide all spirits, wine, and beer. We have options ranging from our delicious specialty cocktails to paired wine selections. We can also provide a sommelier for that extra-special touch!
Can I provide my own alcohol?
Of course! We are happy to review your order and make recommendations. If you’d like, we have mixer and garnish packages available. Please let us know if you’re interested in adding one on.
What are your tasting guidelines?
When you are ready to book a tasting, please let us know and we will schedule a time that works with both parties. We typically schedule tastings Monday thru Wednesday between 11:30 am and 4:30 pm.
Your tasting menu is fully customizable and will be curated by you with the help of one of our planners. Wine pairing and specialty drinks can be selected as well.
What do the Catering and Staffing Fees include?
All various overhead costs, including, but not limited to, liability insurance, pre-event planning, such as proposal revisions, rental order placement and revisions, site visits, planner consultation, menu preparation, staff time packing and unpacking for your event at our kitchen outside of the billed staffing hours, and more.
This fee is not a gratuity and is taxed. Gratuity is not included in this fee.
Is gratuity included?
We will include a suggested gratuity based on number of staff assigned to your event, length of the event, and logistical complexity of your event.
This line item can be removed upon request.
Gratuities are always shared amongst all staff who are on site at your event. We ask our bartending staff to refrain from displaying “tip jars” at events unless specifically requested by the host.
